For Local Chambers & Other Networking Groups Interested in Hosting the Mission

How does myTownMission set us apart from our competition?

  • myTownMission leverages the idea of belonging to a business group because an individual business owner could not gain this level of exposure by themselves.
  • myTownMission incorporates all marketing mediums in a single marketing effort, coupled with gamification, creating explosive exposure. Strategies are piled upon strategies to compel customers to interact with the Business Partners throughout the Mission by motivating the players to solve a mystery using clues found only by viewing each participating business’s page and keeps them engaged by offering chances to win prizes throughout the game.
  • The traditional fundraising efforts of a business organization are events. To pull off a successful event, the organization must ask members to donate time away from their businesses serving on committees, to purchase sponsorships that expose the business to a limited number of people, mostly those within the organization, in a passive way, such as mention in a program or signage, to donate a silent auction item, to purchase tickets or a table to the event, ultimately, costing the member a significant amount of time and money. The Mission shows that your organization is pursuing innovative alternatives to this traditional way of servicing its members by actively driving customers to your members through compelling personalized exposure for a 24-day period, at minimum. Plus, by incorporating digital marketing, email and text campaigns with an interactive website that gamifies the interaction between a business and its customers, you solidify the belief that your organization is cutting-edge and the place to be!

How will our organization be recognized as the Go-To Business Resource for the community?

Everything will be branded with your organization name. Your organization’s logo will appear on the gameboard. The Facebook and Instagram ads will originate from your organization’s business pages, garnering you more “Likes” and “Followers”. You will provide fun facts to be positioned on the gameboard about your organization and how it serves the community, thus educating them on why they should be following you. You will receive the list of all players, so you may email them newsletters and other event info. Used correctly, this can increase your attendance at future events and give your business members even more exposure to the community. Non-member businesses will learn of what you are doing for your members, enticing them to join.

What is the Mission Accomplished Celebration?

Throughout the Mission, the players will have the opportunity to be entered into drawings for Wild Card prizes and separate raffle prizes. These prizes will be awarded at the Mission Accomplished Celebration, enticing the community to attend and interact face-to-face with your members. It is encouraged to keep this event low-key so that it is free to attend and is minimal work for your staff.

How much work will it be for our organization?

We’ve designed the Mission to be as easy as possible.  First,  as the director of the organization, you will receive access to the “Base of Operations Portal”.  There you’ll find step-by-step instructions (including video tutorials), a calendar and a checklist. You’ll also find “swipe files” for emails and social media posts. Everything you need is all in one place and just a click away.

As you recruit members to be Business Partners within the mission, they will receive access to the “Business Partner Portal.” There, your members will find the advanced marketing education. We’ll also walk them through how to  craft their  business description and offer.

Keep in mind, the majority of the work will be completed by the myTownMission team.

Your organization director’s main responsibilities will be recruiting your members to become business partners in the Mission. Don’t forget we provide all the pre-written emails, social media posts and social media graphics that you’ll need!

You will provide information about your organization for the Mission, , collect prizes for the Mission Accomplished Celebration, invite the public to the celebration, and award prizes at that event.

Your members’ responsibilities will be to learn from the business education, apply what they learn to write a business description and offer, promote the mission to their networks (with marketing materials we give them), provide a prize valued at $25 or more, and meet the community members who participated at the Mission Accomplished Celebration.

Can more than one organization in the same area run myTownMission at the same time?

No. Once an organization engages us to complete myTownMission on its behalf, that organization receives a protected territory preventing a competing organization from running a Mission within that territory for 60 days. The protected territory will be determined at your organization’s customization meeting with the myTownMission team.

Is there a dollar amount for each Wild Card Prize and Raffle item?

We recommend that each business donate a prize valued at $25 or more. Business owners may partner together to pool resources and offer some “big-ticket” items, which will further entice the players to attend the Mission Accomplished Celebration. The parameters for this aspect of the Mission may be set by your organization at your customization meeting with your myTownMission Team.

Will people be notified that by opting-in they are agreeing to be emailed, texted and/or called by the businesses?

Yes. By opting-in, players are agreeing to the myTownMission Privacy Policy, Communication Policy and Terms of Service, which includes acknowledgement that our business partners may contact them by email, text or phone.

What are the revenue opportunities for our organization?

The myTownMission team works with each organization closely to understand its objectives and revenue goals. Based on your goals, we will craft an approach designed to meet or exceed them using various strategies including, but not limited to, premium listings, Mission Accomplished Celebration designation, business featured in mystery clues, enrollment bonuses, referral bonuses, and pricing strategy.

How does myTownMission drive customers to visit the gameboard day-after-day?

Each day, we unlock a new group of businesses, so a customer/player must come back to the game board to learn of that day’s business promotions and clues to solving the mission’s mystery.

We encourage businesses to run their offers/promotions for longer than one-day to encourage customers to re-visit past days of the Mission.

We administer email and text campaigns throughout the Mission to remind people to visit the gameboard and see that day’s featured businesses.

There are several Wild Card spaces hidden throughout the gameboard that include an opportunity to win a prize when customers/players text in a key word.

How many different ways do businesses get exposure to the Customers/Players throughout the Mission?

Once the Mission launches, the players in the game (potential customers) move through the gameboard by clicking on each business’s square, leading them to the business’s one-page website. In addition to the elevated business description and compelling offer, there is a clue on each business website. Some clues lead to the next square on the gameboard and some clues eliminate or identify suspects in the mystery. Players must click on all squares to find the clues, ensuring that they see every business. Prizes are awarded as the players progress throughout the game, so prizes that originate from a business provide another mention.

Do businesses that are positioned on the first day get more exposure than those positioned on the last day of the Mission?

No. Players are led through gameboard with clues that bring visitors to every business’ one-page website. Each business listing contains a countdown clock updating the public on how much time remains to redeem the business’s offer. Because businesses extend an offer to the public for a particular number of days, the public will be encouraged to view each business during that period – so if the offer is for 3 days, the public will be re-visiting that business’s space on the game board for at least 3 days from when it is unlocked, whether it is on day one or day ten.

Second, businesses may purchase more than one space on the gameboard to be featured more than one day throughout the campaign.

When do the businesses get the email list of all consumers that opted-in?

Both your business organization and your members (our business partners) will receive the list of all players that opted-in to the Mission once the Mission is completed. This prevents the players from receiving contacts from up to 200 businesses during the short time period of the Mission. Additionally, as part of the mTM Business Partner Portal, your members will receive education on best practices of using the email list, so as to nurture a relationship with the players, rather than burning them out with spam.

Are there specific demographics that the Mission appeals to more than others?

No. By using multiple avenues of notification, such as social media ads, email campaigns, text campaigns, flyer distribution, and text marketing we work hard to reach a full range of demographics, thus getting the Mission in front of every business’s ideal customer.
